The Simple Step-by-Step Method
Step 1: Prep Your Station
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Arrange the whole pecans in small clusters of 3-4 nuts each, forming a “turtle” shape (a body with legs and a head). This will be your foundation.

Step 2: Create the Caramel
In a medium, microwave-safe bowl, combine the unwrapped caramels and heavy cream.

Microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring thoroughly after each interval, until the caramel is completely melted and smooth. This usually takes about 1.5 to 2 minutes total.
