Instructions:
Preheat oven to 170°C / 340°F.
Grease and line one 8-inch round pan or loaf pan.
In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk eggs, oil, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Divide batter into two bowls.
Mix cocoa powder with hot milk/water (and sugar if using).
Stir cocoa mixture into one portion of batter.
Spoon vanilla and chocolate batters alternately into the pan.
Swirl gently with a skewer or knife (do not overmix).
Bake for 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool before slicing.
